In order to regulate the profession of court interpreters and translators in accordance with EU acquis, assistance was provided to the Ministry of Justice and its Working Group in drafting of the new Law on Court Interpreters and Court Translators. The provisions of the new Law and relevant subordinate legislation address requirements of EU Chapter 3 acquis on the freedom of movement of persons and services related to the practice of the profession of court interpreters and translators.
During the workshop “Reform of Court Interpreters’ and Court Translators’ Legal Framework in light of EU Integration” organised on 4th September 2018, representatives of the Ministry of Justice and members of the Working Group were familiarised with regulatory considerations, best practice examples and possible solutions in the context of planned reform.
