Study visits to Slovenia and Croatia in relation to Chapters 6 and 3

The representatives of Chapter 6 Negotiating Group visited Croatia and Slovenia in March 2018 and were familiarised with the legislation and systems set in relation to company law and corporate accounting and auditing. The members of Chapter 3 Negotiating Group visited Slovenia in September 2018 and learned more about legal solutions, systems in place and practical modalities in relation to services, mutual recognition of professional qualifications and postal services.

During the study visit in scope of Chapter 6 from 20-23 March, the most important institutions were visited, i.e. in Slovenia: the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology and the Slovenian Business Register Agency, and in Croatia: the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance, Financial Agency (FINA) and Croatian Business Register.

Representatives of Chapter 6 Negotiating Group, Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance and Business Register Agency were familiarised with legal arrangements, systems and activities conducted by the counterpart institutions and organisations in Slovenia and Croatia, institutional and legal framework, as well as practical aspects regarding implementation of specific requirements in scope of Chapter 6 – Company law.

During the study visit to Slovenia on Chapter 3 – Right of establishment and freedom to provide services, between 10 – 13 September, the most important institutions were visited: the Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, the Ministry of Economic Development and Technology, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning, Chamber of Crafts, the Ministry of Justice and the Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia.

Representatives of Chapter 3 Negotiating Group, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry for Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development and the Ministry of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure, were informed about the institutional and legal framework, and practical aspects of implementation of requirements related to services, mutual recognition of professional qualifications and postal services.
