An agreement signed for the continuation of EU Support to Migration Management in Serbia

The Commissioner of the European Union for Internal Affairs and Migration, Ylva Johansson, attended today the signing of the Agreement on the continuation of the EU Support to Migration Management in Serbia. The agreement was signed by the Minister for European Integration in the Government of the Republic of Serbia, Jadranka Joksimović, the Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia, Ambassador Sem Fabrizi, and the Head of the Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Serbia, Lidija Marković.

EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration Ylva Johansson stated that Serbia has shown that it is a reliable and strong partner of the Union in solving the problem of migration.

“The EU has always been a partner to Serbia in solving migration problems. You have shown that you are a reliable partner. You have treated people here in the prescribed way. I congratulate Serbia on its efforts to vaccinate migrants. You told me about the impressive economic growth of Serbia and the importance of launching a high-speed railway as soon as possible, and I will convey that message to Brussels,”said Commissioner Johansson, adding that the EU wants Serbia to be a part of it and for that reason it is important to continue with reforms and their implementation.
