During 2021, 68,308 migrants were accommodated in reception and asylum centers
According to the latest statistical data from the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration, in 2021, a total of 68,308 migrants stayed in reception and asylum centers. The average stay was 30 days.
Each of the migrants who passed through the centers managed by the Commissariat for Refugees and Migration received accommodation, food, clothing, medical care, and humane treatment from those who work with them. The European Union is the largest donor of funds for migration management in Serbia.
At the moment, 4,350 migrants are staying in the centers. They are located in 13 reception and asylum centers (RC Sombor, RC Subotica, RC Kikinda, RC Sid, RC Principovac, RC Adasevci, AC Krnnjaca, AC Obrenovac, AC Sjenica, AC Tutin, AC Bogovadja, AC Presevo, RC Bosilegrad) .
Six centers are temporarily closed (CA Banja Koviljača, PC Divljana; PC Pirot, PC Dimitrovgrad, CA Vranje and PC Bujanovac), and if necessary they can be activated in a short time. There are also two places for emergency reception (Miksalište in Belgrade and Miratovac in the south of Serbia).
According to the national structure, most migrants come from Afghanistan 35.01%, Syria 22.53%, Bangladesh 8.97%, Pakistan 6.62%, and India 4.51%.
Children staying in the centers are enrolled in regular school programs, and migrants were among the priority groups for vaccination against COVID-19. The epidemic situation in the centers is stable.
