Complete health care provided for migrants

Through EU Support to Migration Management in Serbia, migrants are provided with complete health care. Thanks to that, the spread of COVID-19 virus among this population was prevented.

Data for the period as of 2015 up to date show the scope of this protection:

267,496 medical services provided;

68 different health care institutions at all three levels of health care have provided services to migrants;

2,023 children were vaccinated with 5,355 doses of vaccine;

20 medical teams have been engaged to provide care to migrants at the primary health care level. They helped local institutions by transporting migrants, purchasing protective equipment, dietary supplements, medical aids (hearing aids, glasses, wheelchairs…);

13 pharmacies have supplied reception centers and asylum centers with medicines and other medical devices;

133 workshops were organized by public health institutes in order to raise awareness among migrants about health and prevention, to familiarize them with the most common infectious diseases, the importance of hygiene and to transfer that knowledge to the youngest.

The Republic of Serbia has included migrants and asylum seekers in the vaccination program against the COVID-19 virus.
