From June to December 2017, support was provided to the Ministry of Environmental Protection in further harmonization of national legislation with the Industrial Emissions Directive 2010/75/EU, in relation to industrial pollution, waste management and large combustion plants.
Following a comprehensive analysis of the current situation and the relevant Serbian legislation, the PLAC II Project experts, Jovan Rajić and Riccardo Quaggiato, prepared the Draft Amendments to the Law on Integrated Environmental Pollution Prevention and Control and draft Rulebook on Determination of Start-up and Shut-down Periods for Large Combustion Plans. A proposal for improvements of the governmental order on types of waste subject to thermal treatment, in accordance with EU regulations, has also been prepared.
The activities carried out were presented during a workshop organised on 14 December for the representatives of institutions involved in the implementation of the Industrial Emissions Directive.
