The PLAC II project has provided assistance to the Ministry of Finance, Securities Commission and of the Central Securities Depository and Clearing House PLAC II in preparing draft amendments to existing or drafts of new legal acts in the area of investment services. The support also included provision of relevant information regarding the correlation between Regulation on European Venture Capital Funds and Regulation on European Social Entrepreneurship Funds with Directive on Alternative Investment Fund Managers (AIFM).
The workshop “Investment funds” was organised for the representatives of the beneficiary institutions involved in harmonisation of the existing national legislation in the field of investment funds with the respective EU acquis on 22nd June.
During this one‐day workshop PLAC II project expert Professor Dr. Christos Gortsos presented the object and content of EU acquis in the field of undertakings for collective investment in transferable securities (UCITS), Alternative Investment Fund Managers and Venture Capital and main differences among these types of investment funds. His presentation was complemented by examples of best practice examples for the implementation of EU acquis, as well as challenges related to the implementation of the UCITS V and the AIFM Directives in Serbia.
