{"id":9088,"date":"2018-11-14T09:27:34","date_gmt":"2018-11-14T08:27:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/euinfo.rs\/plac2\/?p=9088"},"modified":"2018-11-19T23:48:43","modified_gmt":"2018-11-19T22:48:43","slug":"zavrsna-konferencija-projekta-pravna-podrska-pregovorima-plac-ii","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/euinfo.rs\/plac2\/en\/zavrsna-konferencija-projekta-pravna-podrska-pregovorima-plac-ii\/","title":{"rendered":"Final conference of the project &#8220;Policy and Legal Advice Centre (PLAC II)\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The conference marking the completion of the project &#8220;Policy and Legal Advice Centre (PLAC II)\u201d was held at the National Assembly of Serbia on November 9, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>During the conference, the results and activities of the project through which the European Union helps Serbia to improve the harmonization of national legislation with the EU acquis, implementation of legal acts and strengthen the capacities of institutions to successfully conduct accession negotiations, were presented. The implementation of the project worth 2.6 million EUR began in June 2016, lasting 30 months.<\/p>\n<p>Assistant Minister for European Integration Ksenija Milenkovi\u0107 said that harmonisation of legislation with the EU acquis and implementation are crucial for further progress. She emphasised the importance of cooperation between institutions and experts and the flexibility during the project implementation, which enabled the inclusion of new activities that were not originally envisaged.<\/p>\n<p>Tanja Mi\u0161\u010devi\u0107, the Head of the Negotiating Team of the Republic of Serbia for Membership Negotiations with the EU, said that PLAC II is one of the most successful projects funded by the EU, precisely because of its flexibility.<\/p>\n<p>Deputy Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Mateja Nor\u010di\u010d \u0160tamcar welcomed the Government&#8217;s commitment to harmonising legislation with EU acquis and stated that the PLAC II project is one of the key ones providing support in this area. Harmonization of regulations is important also because citizens have direct benefits, she concluded.<\/p>\n<p>The PLAC II Project Team Leader Mojca Gro\u0161elj said that the project was recognized as a significant support programme.
