The PLAC II project has provided assistance to the Ministry of Finance, Securities Commission and of the Central Securities Depository and Clearing House PLAC\u00a0 II\u00a0 in preparing draft\u00a0 amendments\u00a0 to\u00a0 existing\u00a0 or\u00a0 drafts\u00a0 of\u00a0 new legal\u00a0 acts\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 area\u00a0 of investment services. The support also included provision of\u00a0relevant\u00a0information\u00a0 regarding\u00a0 the\u00a0 correlation\u00a0 between\u00a0 Regulation\u00a0 on\u00a0 European\u00a0 Venture\u00a0 Capital\u00a0 Funds\u00a0 and\u00a0 Regulation\u00a0 on\u00a0 European\u00a0 Social\u00a0 Entrepreneurship\u00a0 Funds\u00a0with\u00a0Directive\u00a0on\u00a0Alternative\u00a0Investment\u00a0Fund\u00a0Managers (AIFM).<\/p>\n
The workshop \u201cInvestment funds\u201d was organised\u00a0 for\u00a0 the\u00a0 representatives\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 beneficiary institutions\u00a0 involved in\u00a0 harmonisation\u00a0 of\u00a0 the\u00a0 existing\u00a0 national\u00a0 legislation\u00a0 in\u00a0 the\u00a0 field\u00a0 of\u00a0 investment funds with the respective EU acquis on 22nd June.<\/p>\n
During this one\u2010day workshop PLAC II project expert Professor Dr. Christos Gortsos presented the object and content of EU acquis in the field of undertakings\u00a0 for\u00a0 collective\u00a0 investment\u00a0 in\u00a0 transferable\u00a0 securities\u00a0 (UCITS),\u00a0 \u00a0Alternative\u00a0 Investment\u00a0 Fund\u00a0 Managers \u00a0and Venture Capital and main differences among these types of investment funds. His presentation was complemented by examples of best practice examples for the implementation of EU acquis, as well as challenges related to the implementation of the UCITS V and the AIFM Directives in Serbia.<\/p>\n
